Spam Filters
Find out more on spam filters - exactly what they are, the way they work and the ways to create one.
Most of the emails sent around the globe these days are spam, i.e. unsolicited messages with various offers or with hyperlinks to malicious software. Not only are such emails irritating, but they also pose a risk to your own personal computer, not to mention that you may be tricked. That is the reason why many email service providers rely on spam filters, which are software apps that ‘scan’ all incoming emails and filter the unwanted ones based on their content – what words or phrases an email includes and how many times they’re referred to, what site a certain link opens, what outgoing mail server the message comes from, and so on. Certain providers also rely on the databases of spam-tracking organizations devoted to the provision of the most up-to-date info about unwelcome email messages, to make sure that their customers will not receive any email in their mailbox that is not supposed to be there.

Spam Filters in Shared Hosting
If you reach the decision to host your domains with us and you pick any of our
Linux shared plans, you will be able to activate spam filtering for any mailbox that you set up. With a couple of clicks in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you can configure five different safety levels. If you continue to receive spam email messages or the filters start preventing authentic messages from reaching your mailbox, you can switch to some other level just as easily. The quality of our spam protection service is ensured by one of the most widely used spam filters – SpamAssassin. If you do not want to risk skipping a genuine email message that may be considered as spam because of its content, you can also configure custom filters based on the sender, the body or the subject of the message and re-send the emails to a separate mailbox where you can read them at a later point in time.

Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you decide to use the email service that is offered with our
Linux semi-dedicated servers, you can keep all undesired email messages away from your mailbox by activating the five-level anti-spam protection service that we offer with every package. This can be accomplished through the feature-loaded Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel and we use the powerful SpamAssassin filter to ensure that we offer the very best possible security for our customers. You can have a different anti-spam level for each email account and you can choose if the filtered emails should be deleted or forwarded to a separate email account where you can check them later in order to ensure that you won’t lose legitimate messages. Switching to a different protection level or disabling the protection is also easy and requires several clicks.
